Ch. 4516: Married At First Sight Chapter 4516
Chapter 4515
Finally, there was a man her daughter actually liked enough to give a chance. Mrs. Lafond couldnât risk Maddox getting scared off.
Maddox asked, âWhat did you just say, Aunt?â
Now even more embarrassed, Mrs. Lafond lowered her voice and said, âRomina, when she drinks too much, likes to tease handsome guys. But she rarely gets drunk. Just make sure she doesnât tonight.â
Romina was twenty-nine and had only been drunk twice. Both times she ended up teasing attractive men and scared them off. When she sobered up, she didnât remember anything. If no good-looking men were around, sheâd tease her best friends instead.
Maddox replied, â...I really canât picture Romina flirting like that when sheâs drunk.â
But he was secretly curious. He actually wanted to see what she was like drunk.
âAunt, do you think Iâm handsome enough?â
Mr. and Mrs. Lafond went quiet.
Was this kid hoping Romina would flirt with him?
âMaddox, donât try to outdrink Romina. Iâm afraid youâll pass out before she even feels it,â Mrs. Lafond warned.
He smiled. He had seen Romina handle her liquor at social eventsâshe could outdrink most.
âDonât worry, Aunt. I was just joking. I wonât challenge her. Iâll keep an eye on her and make sure she doesnât overdo it tonight.â
Word was, Mr. Lacroix had also invited River from YantailâRominaâs sworn rival. But the guy was ridiculously good-looking.
If he and Romina both got drunk and she ended up flirting with River instead of him, that would be a disaster.
Those two were like cats and dogs. When they met, it was always a showdown. Even when they didnât meet, theyâd throw shade at each other through interviews and online.
Everyone in Eaglioncileâs business circle knew they were rivals.
But since Mr. Lacroix was well-respected, no one dared to refuse his invitationâso both were coming tonight.
âThanks in advance, Maddox. You chat with your uncle for a bitâIâm going to check on Romina. Sheâs usually quick, but tonight sheâs taking forever to get ready.â
She headed upstairs.
When she got to Rominaâs room, she knocked. âRomina, are you ready yet? Can I come in?â
âThe doorâs open, Mom. Come in.â
Romina hadnât even changed into her gown yet. She was still staring at her wardrobe, undecided.
Perfect timing. Her mom could help her pick one.
âYou havenât even changed yet? Youâve been up here forever. Maddox is already waiting downstairs.â
âI canât decide which one to wear, Mom. Can you help me pick the best one?â
âThese gowns were tailored just for you,â said Mrs. Lafond, walking in. âTheyâre all your style and suit you well. Youâd look stunning in any of them. Youâve got a figure like a modelâeverything looks great on you.â
Still, she stepped over to help Romina choose.
âMaddox is wearing a black suit,â she said, holding up a dress. âWear the white gown. Black and whiteâclassic match. You two will look amazing together.â
Romina frowned. âI donât really like white. It gets dirty so easily, and itâs super obvious when it does. Honestly, Iâd rather wear a pantsuitâso much more comfortable. Dresses always feel awkward to me.â
