Ch. 4532: Married At First Sight Chapter 4532
Chapter 4532
âRomina, Iâve heard your alcohol tolerance is legendaryâthat you can drink a thousand cups without getting drunk. Is that true, or just a rumor?â River asked with a smirk, noticing how quickly she emptied her glass.
âWhat, you want to challenge me?â Romina arched a brow. âYouâre probably scared Iâll drink you under the table. Everyone who competes with me ends up passed out.â
River laughed. âYouâre probably right. I donât dare. Iâd just end up being your punchline for the rest of my life.â
Romina snorted. âExactly what I thought. No guts.â
She leaned closer. âTell meâwhat exactly did you say to my grandfather? I just know heâs going to give me hell when I get home.â
River grinned. âI told him Iâd come to complain.â
Romina glared. âRiver, you have no shame. Thatâs my grandfather, not yours!â
River shot back, âYou called me husband. That makes us husband and wife. Your grandpa is my grandpa too now. Mine passed away years agoâIâd love to call someone grandpa again. And hey, youâve got one, so why not share?â
Romina was fuming. She seriously considered throwing a glass of wine at him.
This guy was unbelievable.
âI shouldâve slapped you harder,â she muttered.
River smiled. âYeah, I told him the truth. That my sister-in-law came to visit, you saw me with her, jumped to conclusions, and slapped me in public.â
Romina was speechless.
She scowled. âRiver, all this because I didnât treat you to one stupid meal?â
âYou refused to apologize,â River replied. âI think you owe me a meal.â
Romina took a deep breath and gave in. âFine. Iâll treat you to lunch at Eaglioncile Hotel tomorrow. You can order whatever you wantâdrinks, too.â
River grinned. âOne meal isnât enough. You made me wait so many daysâthereâs interest to consider. Ten daysâ delay equals a month of meals. Thatâs just fair.â
Rominaâs face darkened.
âRiver, you are so shameless.â
River shrugged. âThen take responsibility. You called me husband, didnât you? You canât call me that for free.â
Rominaâs anger turned into a sly smile.
She reached out her hand.
River raised an eyebrow, unsure what she meant. Did she want to hold hands?
Not one to miss an opportunity, he reached out and gently took her hand. He even caressed it twice.
âBad temper, but soft hands. Cute,â he said.
âYou have a bad temper, too. And you definitely just took advantage of me,â Romina snapped, yanking her hand back.
Her fake smile sharpened. âRiver, if I called you husband, then you canât call me wife for nothing, either. Husbands are supposed to give their wives spending money. Iâve got my eye on some jewelry, a few limited-edition bags, and tons of designer clothes. So⌠cough it up, husband.â
Riverâs smile froze.
This woman was dangerous.
She turned the tables on him in an instant.
