Ch. 4615: Married At First Sight Chapter 4615

Chapter 4615

River took his sister-in-law and niece to the airport, and Serenity urged him to head back.

ā€œI’ll text you once we board, and let you know when we land in Wiltspoon,ā€ Serenity said. ā€œI’ve got bodyguards and nannies with me, so I can handle the kids. You go on—you’ve got work this afternoon.ā€

River hugged his niece one more time, reluctantly. ā€œBelle, Uncle River’s going to miss you. You have to think of me when you get back.ā€

Belle nodded.

But in truth, the moment she got home, she’d forget all about Uncle River.

She had too many uncles to keep track of anyway.

River gave Maverick a few more reminders, kissed Belle’s chubby little cheek, and reminded the bodyguards to take good care of Serenity before heading out.

After leaving the airport, he made a quick stop at the flower shop and had another bouquet of money flowers arranged.

Then he headed straight to Lafond Group.

When the employees there saw River walk in with another bouquet of cash flowers, they exchanged curious glances.

Was President York seriously courting their Vice President?

Or was this all a calculated move to use romance as a weapon—to throw Lafond Group off its game?

That must be it. It had to be a strategic move.

River couldn’t care less what they thought. No one stopped him anyway, so he walked straight into Romina’s office.

She frowned at the sight of him carrying another bouquet, but didn’t say anything.

Once he approached, she asked, ā€œDid Sister Seren and the kids leave?ā€

ā€œThey did. I came straight from the airport—didn’t even stop for lunch. I went straight to the florist and had this bouquet made for you,ā€ River said as he handed her the bouquet. ā€œRomina, I skipped lunch just to bring you flowers. Be kind—take them.ā€

ā€œI tossed the last ones in the trash. You brought them again? You think I’ll throw this one away too? I’m not swimming in so much money that I don’t know what to do with it.ā€

Romina lied, refusing to admit she’d kept the last bouquet.

But her hands didn’t lie. She reached out and took the bouquet, noting that it was even more extravagant than last time.

River grinned. ā€œYou really do have too much money. I don’t have a wife or kids, and I can’t spend everything I make. I just want you to help me spend it. My parents are self-sufficient, and my brothers are even wealthier than I am.ā€

Romina rolled her eyes. ā€œI’m not broke either, so don’t look at me to blow your cash. But if you’re really that desperate, fine—let me invest it for you. I’ll give you a cut when I make some profit.ā€

River chuckled. ā€œWhat kind of project are you investing in? Tell me. I want in too. I’ll follow your lead and enjoy the good life.ā€

Romina stood up and walked away without responding.

A moment later, she came back with a glass of warm water and a bowl of snacks.

ā€œThese are just some snacks the company provides in the afternoon. Pretty decent. Eat something—don’t pass out from hunger on my office floor. If word gets out, people will think I starved you.ā€

River’s eyes lit up.

Still, he couldn’t help but tease her. ā€œYou haven’t made me pass out—yet.ā€

Romina ignored him entirely.

River washed his hands and dug into the snacks.

He was starving.

He polished off everything on the plate and drank two full glasses of water.
