Ch. 4803: Married At First Sight Chapter 4803

Chapter 4803

Aitana’s younger cousin chimed in. “Is that Brother Joaquin? He’s a nice guy.”

“There’s nothing wrong with him as a person,” Aitana replied. “He doesn’t smoke, drink, gamble, or do anything shady. But his family isn’t a good match for us. If something isn’t right from the start, we shouldn’t give it a chance.

I’ve always kept my distance from him, haven’t I? He never confessed his feelings before, so I couldn’t say anything. But today he did — and I rejected him.”

Her younger cousin fell silent.

He didn’t really know Joaquin’s family background. All he knew was that Joaquin ran his own clinic, had bought a large apartment in the city with four bedrooms, two living rooms, and two bathrooms, and even paid cash for a car worth more than $300,000. Joaquin had also said he had hundreds of thousands of dollars saved in the bank.

To the boy, Joaquin was impressive. His own parents had worked their entire lives just to pay off their house, and they drove a modest domestic car worth barely $100,000 — nothing like Joaquin’s sleek imported vehicle.

Aitana turned to her uncle and aunt. “I’m not interested in love right now. If my parents call and ask you to arrange blind dates for me, just tell them no. Tell them I have my own plans.”

She no longer yearned for romance.

Aunt Pollock sighed. “No matter how busy you are, you still have to think about the important things in life. Are you still unable to forget him?” She meant Aitana’s first love.

“How could that be?” Aitana said calmly. “We’ve been apart for years. I don’t waste time on men who try to climb the social ladder.”

Her first love had married two years ago — the daughter of his boss. He was probably enjoying both career success and a comfortable marriage now.

Since their breakup, she hadn’t once asked about his life.

Setting down her bowl and chopsticks, Aitana stood. “Uncle, Aunt, I’m done eating. Take your time. Little brother, wait for me — I’ll drive you back to school, then head to the hospital.”

“Okay, I’ll wait for you,” her cousin said.

Aitana went upstairs to shower. The house had been built for a family of four, but she was the only one living there now.

Even during the New Year, they might not all reunite.

Ten minutes later she came downstairs again, this time carrying a bag and car keys. “Let’s go,” she said to her cousin.

Her vehicle was just an electric scooter. It took about fifteen minutes to ride from the Pollock family’s clinic to Wiltspoon Central Hospital, and she usually used it to commute.

She first dropped her cousin off at school, then continued on toward the hospital at an easy pace.

Twenty minutes later she was at work, heading straight for the inpatient department.

“Dr. Pollock!”

She had just reached the nurses’ station when she heard a familiar voice call her name. It was the eighth young master of the York family.

Alex had been hospitalized for a while. She spoke with him every day during her ward rounds, and his magnetic voice had become familiar to her.

She had to admit — Alex was handsome, gentle, and polite. Even his voice was pleasant.

He was the most striking man she had ever met.

Aitana smiled at him, and in Alex’s eyes, her smile was bright, sweet, and a little shy.

His hands itched; he wanted to reach out and pinch her round cheeks.

“Mr. York, you’re due to change your dressing today. Has it been done yet?” she asked.

Alex looked at her. “Yes, it was changed this morning. I didn’t know Dr. Pollock was on the night shift. I was wondering why you didn’t make rounds.”
