Ch. 4865: Married At First Sight Chapter 4865

Chapter 4865

“Hey, Dr. Legare, what’s with the sudden change of heart? Weren’t we just having a good discussion?”

The shop owner hadn’t expected Joaquin to back out right after he’d called the landlord to sign the contract. Furious, he accused Joaquin of playing him.

Joaquin quickly apologized. “Mr. York, I’m sorry. This is on me. I was too impulsive. This street is busy, with lots of traffic. Since you’ve already posted the for-sale notice, it’ll be gone soon anyway. I’ll take my leave.”

With that, Joaquin hurried off.

Alex grumbled in his head. Coward.

Since the contract fell through, Alex had no choice but to report back to Serenity.

Serenity didn’t mind at all. If this deal didn’t work out, another one surely would. Shops on that street were always snapped up quickly.

Shops elsewhere sometimes sat vacant for a while, but not on this street.

She told Alex to hold on to the two contracts and asked him to help with the next signing when a new tenant came in.

Alex headed back to the Pollock family clinic.

Both he and Joaquin made sure to show their presence to Uncle and Aunt Pollock.

As the young master of the York family, Alex was smooth-talking and well-read. He could keep Second Uncle Pollock entertained with conversation on almost anything. Even when it came to gossip, Alex had plenty to share.

Of course, he never revealed names from his workplace stories, and he stayed away from family gossip.

They ended up chatting late into the night before Alex finally left.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Joaquin showed up with a midnight snack he had personally prepared for Aitana.

But Aitana wasn’t in her office.

He asked around and learned from a nurse that it was a busy night. Aitana had already performed two surgeries and was currently in the middle of her third.

“Did anyone eat mangoes or drink Want Want milk tonight?” Joaquin asked.

Everyone in the hospital knew that whenever mangoes, Want Want milk, or Want Want snow cakes were around, the night shift turned chaotic.

The nurse gave a wry smile. “A patient who was discharged earlier gave us a big fruit basket as thanks. It had mangoes.”

“No wonder,” Joaquin said with a knowing smile. “Alright, I’ll just leave these snacks in Dr. Pollock’s office so she can eat them after surgery.”

He added with a soft grin, “Please tell her I made them myself.”

The nurse nodded, smiling. “Of course, I’ll let her know.”

After all, Dr. Pollock had plenty of admirers. Even her senior had feelings for her.
