Ch. 5035: Married At First Sight Chapter 5035

Chapter 5035

Cairo’s eyes lit up instantly. “Dad, are we going to Uncle’s house today? I miss Belle so much! We haven’t been there in forever.”

Now that he was in kindergarten and his parents were busy with work, the butler usually picked him up after school. He played alone at home most days.

He didn’t have many friends his age to play with, so weekends at his uncles’ homes were always the highlight of his week.

Callum said, “It hasn’t been that long, has it? Dad remembers you playing with your brother and sister not too long ago.”

“It has been a long time,” Cairo insisted.

Callum laughed. “Alright, alright, it’s been a long time. Go pack up. Your great-grandmother called—she wants Mom and Dad to take you to Uncle Alex’s house for a couple of days. Grab two sets of clothes. Your uncle doesn’t have anything that fits you.”

Cairo blinked. “We’re going to Uncle Alex’s house? I thought we were going to play with my big brother?”

If it was a simple visit to Uncle Alex, he usually stayed only half a day and came home. There was never a need to stay overnight—everything was close by.

Callum explained, “Your great-grandmother is already at Uncle Alex’s place, and your eldest uncle is taking your brother and sister there today. Since the kids will be there, why not stay a couple of days? Your uncle Alex can spend time with you, and you can keep your great-grandma company.”

Cairo nodded. “Oh… If my big brother and sister are going, I’ll go pack my clothes. Dad, can you help me with my blocks?”

Callum shook his head. “That’s your responsibility. If you don’t want to bring them, leave them. Your brother has plenty of toys—he might not even care about your blocks. I just don’t want you getting bored at Uncle Alex’s house, so take your new set with you if you want.”

Uncle Alex was single, so even if he kept a few toys at home, there weren’t many. Most of the younger kids preferred going to their married uncles’ houses. They always said the single uncles’ places weren’t as fun.

Cairo didn’t argue. He grabbed his little backpack, packed two sets of clothes, then returned to gather his Lego pieces.

Callum stood by and watched, not lifting a finger.

When Cairo finished, he asked, “Dad, where’s Mom?”

“She’s getting dressed. When you’re done, head downstairs and start eating. You eat slowly, so you go first. Mom and I will come down later.”

“Okay.”

Cairo slung his tiny backpack over his shoulders, grabbed the bag of toys he wanted to bring, and headed out with his dad.

Callum walked him to the stairs, then let him go down on his own while he returned to his room to wash up.

Camryn was already dressed. When Callum walked in, she asked, “Where’s our son?”

“He’s downstairs. He woke up super early and spent the morning building his Lego set. I gave him two boxes last night—he hasn’t finished them yet.”

Camryn shook her head. “You gave Cairo Lego bricks so tiny an adult needs patience for them. How is a three-year-old supposed to finish them so fast? Do you think he’s a little engineer already?”

Cairo had just turned three. To Camryn, he was still her tiny baby, even if he was precocious and quick to learn.

Callum, however, always pushed for independence, insisting York children should learn to take care of themselves early.

He often bragged that he started martial arts at four years old, though Camryn insisted Cairo wouldn’t start until he was at least five.
