Ch. 5201: Married At First Sight Chapter 5201
Chapter 5201
His family had managed the Labbe Group for thirty years, only to finally have everything within reach.
It couldnât be that child from back then.
Timothy repeated this thought to himself, as if reassurance alone could make it true.
If Landen really were that childâif he truly possessed the family headâs tokenâhe could return to the Labbe family at any time and claim the position of family head outright. Whether he could keep that position was another matter entirely.
But Landen had never produced the token.
That alone suggested he might not be Titusâperhaps just someone with the same name.
After all, there were countless people in the world with identical names. Two people sharing the same given name meant nothing.
âDad,â Renata said thoughtfully, âthat child from back then is still alive. But even if you saw him, would you recognize him? Do you even remember what he looked like? Thirty years have passed. People change.â
Timothy answered without hesitation, âHe looks exactly like his father. As long as I see him, Iâll know.â
When the last true family head died, Timothy had already been an adult. Not only had he met the family head, but he had been close to him. His father and the family head were cousins from different branches, within five degrees of kinship.
Before his father carried out his conspiracy, the family head trusted them deeply. Timothy had grown up alongside him and frequently visited the family mansion.
He remembered that face clearly.
He had watched that child grow from birth to his first birthday. He had held him often and noticed how, as the child grew, his features increasingly mirrored those of the family head.
Decades earlier, his father had gone to Wiltspoon, hoping to meet Titusâthe adopted son of the York familyâs eldest daughter-in-lawâthrough her nephew. One meeting would have been enough to confirm the truth.
But that woman, Carrie Newman, had been utterly useless.
She seduced two bodyguards, softened their resolve, then escaped with the money during a moment of carelessness.
His father had been furious and sent assassins everywhere to hunt her down.
As for the adopted son of the Murphy familyâs eldest daughter-in-law, his father never managed to see him. Even obtaining information about the boy was nearly impossible. No one knew where the Johnson family had hidden him.
This convinced his father that the forces protecting Titus werenât limited to the Johnson and York families.
There was something elseâa hidden power they truly feared.
His father once said that even the Labbe familyâs intelligence network couldnât uncover anything. Sometimes, their operatives would even be beaten without knowing who attacked them.
That alone proved how terrifying that force was.
Timothy once suspected the Bucham family of Wiltspoon, but his father rejected the idea. The Bucham family wasnât close to the Johnsons, and Jane hadnât known anyone from the Buchams when she found the child.
âIâll try,â Renata finally said. âIf I manage to remove his mask, Iâll take a photo and send it to you.â
She didnât have much hopeâbut she still wanted to try.
Her familyâs mission was clear: get close to Landen.
If he truly was that child, she would kill him.
If not, she would become his woman and ease the hostility between the two companies.
Though she had never seen Landenâs true face, Renata admired him deeply. She sincerely hoped he wasnât the child from the past.
If he wasnât, she wouldnât hesitate to shamelessly become his woman.
She wanted to be the wife of the most outstanding man in the city.
She despised the spoiled rich heirs who constantly hovered around herâyet she never rejected their flattery. She enjoyed being admired.
After ending the call, Renata leaned forward against the steering wheel, staring at the towering sixty-eight-story office building before her.
