A few minutes later, Baby drove out of Wildridge Manor. Levi sat securely in the back seat in his child safety seat.

Because Levi loved riding along, every family car—whether driven by an elder or one of the older siblings—was equipped with a child seat just for him.

“Brother Baby,” Levi asked, “when are my other brothers coming back?”

“I haven’t asked yet,” Baby replied. “They might come back, or they might stay away. Summer break is long. The brothers studying in Korea might take internships during the holidays.”

Baby remembered that since high school, he had spent every winter and summer break working at York Corporation. He didn’t start as a CEO. He started at the bottom, doing whatever work needed to be done.

Everyone in the company knew he was the York family’s young master. At first, they were overly polite and didn’t dare assign him tasks.

When his father found out, he made it clear: no work meant no pay. If he wanted a salary, he had to earn it.

From then on, even if others hesitated, Baby volunteered. If he didn’t know how to do something, he learned. Gradually, people stopped treating him like glass and began treating him like a colleague.

That experience allowed him to step into leadership smoothly when he came of age.

His cousins followed the same path. Every York child trained at the company or its branches during school breaks.

Of course, some chose their own way. Belle preferred finding summer jobs in other cities so no one would know she was a York. She didn’t want special treatment just because she was the daughter of the York family.

Levi frowned. “If they go to training camp, they won’t come back to the villa. Sister said when they come back, they’ll take me to Uncle Tatum’s house. If they don’t come back, does that mean I’ll never get to go? I miss Sister. I miss her every single minute of every single day!”

During the school year, Levi was in kindergarten while his sister was in school. They rarely saw each other except through video calls.

Now that she finally had a long break, she had gone straight to Uncle Tatum’s house.

Levi had cried and fussed for ages before she promised to wait for the older brothers to return so they could all take him together.

Since then, Levi counted down every day, hoping they would come home.

If they all chose training camp instead, he would cry his heart out.

“I’ll ask them later,” Baby said. “If they’re not coming back, I’ll take you myself.”

Levi brightened. “Then let’s not wait! Brother can buy plane tickets for me and my brother. You drive us to the airport. Sister will pick us up there.”

He clearly couldn’t wait.

Baby laughed lightly. “I heard Brother Milo already went yesterday. I should’ve asked him to take you.”

He said it casually—without thinking.

Levi’s face immediately fell. “Brother Milo went to see Sister? I hate him the most! He always tries to steal Sister from me! No way! Brother Baby, buy plane tickets for me and my brother later. I want to see Sister today. If I don’t go, Brother Milo will take her away!”

Baby stared at the road, speechless.

Why did he have to say that?
