Ch. 5274: Married At First Sight Chapter 5274

Chapter 5274

“No, no, Miss Labbe, why are you shouting so loudly? It’s very noisy,” Landen said lazily. “If you have nothing else to say, please step away. Don’t get too close to me. It really smells.”

His dislike for Renata was unmistakable.

Her face shifted between pale, red, and dark with humiliation.

Renata shot Landen a fierce glare before turning and storming away.

The task her father had given her was far too difficult.

Landen had a razor-sharp tongue and absolutely no gentlemanly restraint. Despite drinking so much, he wasn’t drunk at all—his mind remained perfectly clear. Renata had no opportunity to get close enough to remove his mask.

Even the powerful bosses who could compete with Landen in drinking kept their distance from him.

Whenever he drank, the sharp-tongued man would only lift his mask slightly, revealing his smooth chin while the rest of his face remained hidden.

Renata hid in a corner, but Landen remained within her line of sight.

She waited.

She waited for him to get drunk.

Landen seemed to be in an unusually good mood tonight and drank quite a lot at the banquet.

Eventually, Renata saw him get drunk.

However, Landen’s bodyguards were still completely sober. When Landen began to stagger, Jennifer and another guard supported him as they escorted him out.

From her corner, Renata watched them leave.

Then she pulled out her phone and sent a message to her father.

She informed him that Landen was drunk and on his way home, urging him to arrange an assassination on the road.

With Landen drunk, his bodyguards would be busy protecting him. That distraction might expose weaknesses—giving the assassins an opportunity to strike.

Even if they couldn’t kill Landen tonight, taking out Jennifer and the other guards would still be worthwhile.

Without those bodyguards, no matter how skilled Landen was, he wouldn’t stand a chance against a group of assassins.

What Renata didn’t know was that Landen, leaning against Jennifer in the back seat of the car, was being nudged by her.

Jennifer pushed him lightly and said, “Young Master, the car’s already moving. She won’t come out to see. You don’t need to keep pretending.”

Landen immediately sat up straight and turned to look at Jennifer’s profile.

So beautiful.

“I’m really drunk,” he said.

Jennifer raised an eyebrow. “Are you?”

When she looked at him, their eyes met—his deep black gaze bottomless.

Remaining calm, she said, “Others may not know your alcohol tolerance, but I do. How many glasses would it take to make you drunk? From what I can see, you’re still perfectly clear-headed.”

Landen leaned closer, pressing against her again.

Jennifer only allowed him to sit so close when he pretended to be drunk, worried that he might actually lose control.

“I’m drunk,” Landen muttered. “I’m talking nonsense. What does it mean that Renata keeps bothering me?”

Jennifer replied coldly, “It means she wants to climb into your bed, become your woman, and control you.”

“Oh,” Landen responded lazily. “How could she possibly climb into my bed? I don’t need women.”

Then he added softly,

“Well… there is a woman beside me. You, Jennifer. You’re the only woman by my side—other than my family.”

Jennifer kept her usual indifferent tone.

“You’re really drunk, Young Master. Go to sleep. When we get home, I’ll make you some hangover soup.”

Landen murmured, “For the first time… I really want a woman…”

Jennifer replied calmly, “If that’s true, your master would be very happy in the afterlife. You should get married soon and have children—several of them. You’re the only one left in your family now. Strengthen your lineage.”
