Serenity replied, “Baby was mostly influenced by his great-grandmother—it’s not just my doing.”

Even though the old lady was their great-grandmother, she had only personally raised the first few children. Among the younger generation, Baby and Kevin’s twins, Colson and Colton, were the ones most influenced by her.

Serenity sighed softly. “Baby’s great-grandmother was an incredible woman. It’s a pity she didn’t dedicate herself to education back then.”

Sonny said, half-joking, “If she were still around, I’d definitely send my kids to her after they’re born and let her take care of them.”

Serenity smiled faintly. “Yes… that would be wonderful.”

Serenity never dared to hope for such longevity herself. She often told Zachary that if she could live to see her children grow up, get married, and have families of their own—becoming both a grandmother and a maternal grandmother—she would be content to leave this world.

Every time she said that, Zachary would scold her.

He doted on her endlessly and rarely raised his voice, but on this topic, he never held back.

He would insist that he was older, so if anyone were to pass first, it should be him. He’d also point out that his family had a history of longevity—his grandfather had lived well into his seventies, and many others had lived even longer.

Serenity would counter that she didn’t share the same genes as the York family.

Serenity suddenly said, “If Baby’s great-grandmother were still alive, she definitely wouldn’t let you all stay single into your thirties.”

Serenity shot back, “I had my child at your age, and he’s still single. You’re worse—you’re already in your thirties and still not in a relationship. Tell me what kind of woman you like, and I’ll help you find someone.”

She continued, “Every time I talk to your mother, she asks me to arrange blind dates for you. She’s really worried about your marriage. Sonny, work and money are important, but there’s no end to making money. You need to relax sometimes—make time for dating.”

“Your life can’t be just work. You’re always so busy—when are you going to settle down? We won’t feel at ease until you’re married.”
