When that time came, she could bring her husband, her sons, even her daughter-in-law. It would be an opportunity for her family to expand their horizons, maybe even form valuable connections.

She would no longer be Sonny’s aunt.
And when Sonny eventually married, she wouldn’t even be on the guest list.
So no matter how much resentment she carried, Chelsea never truly considered cutting off the relationship.
After wrapping up another brief meeting, Sonny returned to his office. Feeling drained, he decided to take a break and sat down on the sofa.
He thought about Chelsea’s earlier commotion at the company entrance and asked his secretary about it. He learned that Hank and Jessica had already taken her away—and that Jessica had dragged her into the car without hesitation.
Sonny gave a faint, approving smile.
Jessica had changed. She had become more grounded, taking care of Hank in their daily life. Though his grandparents still held their reservations about her, she had quietly done her best to care for them.
She understood where her future lay.
Hank depended on Sonny—and by extension, so did she. That was why she kept a low profile, doing what she could to stay in Sonny’s good graces.
But that didn’t mean she was someone to be pushed around.
After more than a decade in prison, Jessica was anything but weak.
Chelsea stood no chance against her now.
Sonny picked up his phone and transferred $100,000 to Hank’s account, then sent another $50,000 through WhatsApp. He followed it with a voice message:
“Dad, it’s hot out—don’t push yourself driving. I’ve sent you $150,000. Take Aunt Jessica to the beach for a vacation. Get her some new clothes, too. The seasons are changing—she’ll need them.”
The extra $50,000 on WhatsApp was meant for everyday expenses.
Hank was still driving when he saw the message and the transfers. He didn’t accept them right away, nor did he listen to the voice message immediately.
After dropping Chelsea off at the Repton household, he handed his phone to Jessica and asked her to play Sonny’s message.
When it finished, Hank said quietly, “Go ahead and accept the $50,000 on WhatsApp for me. Let’s take a trip to the beach tomorrow. The $150,000 is more than enough for a nice summer getaway.”
They were no longer young, and their spending habits had changed. What was a small amount to Sonny was more than sufficient for them to enjoy a comfortable vacation.
