Ch. 5378: Married at First Sight Chapter 5378
Chapter 5378
“Mom, there’s no one I like,” Jennifer said softly.
As they entered the house, Titus led the two elders forward. Jennifer instinctively slowed her pace out of habit. As his bodyguard, she never walked side by side with him.
But she had barely fallen two steps behind before Lilian and Jane each grabbed one of her arms and pulled her forward between them.
Forced into the middle, Jennifer could only walk along helplessly.
Lilian smiled and said, “If you don’t have someone you like, then your master will personally pick a few candidates for you. Since you’re living in Havenmill now, we’ll find someone suitable here. While your mother and I are visiting, we’ll help you look around.”
Jennifer immediately fell silent.
Titus quickly spoke up, “Master, I already have someone I like, so there’s no need to introduce anyone to me.”
He was genuinely afraid his master would start arranging blind dates out of boredom.
Everyone already knew who he loved, but Lilian was absolutely capable of stuffing several women into his life just to “help.”
And if Jennifer became jealous because of it?
That would be a disaster.
Jennifer was stubborn enough already. Once she misunderstood something, calming her down would become incredibly difficult.
Lilian narrowed her eyes at him.
“Oh? You have someone you like?” she asked. “Then have you confessed? Have you done anything about it? If you haven’t confessed and haven’t taken action, then the girl probably doesn’t even know you like her.”
After helping the two elders sit down, Titus immediately poured each of them a glass of warm water.
“Mom, Master, have some water first.”
Lilian glanced at the glass with obvious dislike. “Plain warm water has no flavor. Jennifer, go make some tea.”
The moment Jennifer left, Lilian motioned for Titus to sit beside her.
Outside, Titus was powerful and imposing.
But in front of his master, he didn’t even dare raise his voice. If she told him to sit, he sat immediately.
“Master…” Titus smiled obediently. “Since you rarely come all this way, you should at least give your disciple some guidance.”
Lilian snorted. “When it comes to medicine and poison, you already surpassed your master long ago. I have nothing left to teach you there.”
Then her expression sharpened.
“What you really need is to stop being an idiot.”
“You and Jennifer grew up together. You’ve spent eighteen years by each other’s side. Your feelings for each other are obvious, and you love her deeply, so why haven’t you confessed?”
“Are you worried your background will drag her down? Worried that confessing will interfere with your revenge?”
Lilian didn’t wait for an answer before continuing.
“Or are you worried you can’t protect her? Jennifer is fully capable of protecting herself. In fact, she’s been protecting you all these years.”
“She’s already your bodyguard and already involved in your revenge. Whether you confess or not, your enemies will still target her.”
Titus fell silent for a long moment before finally speaking softly.
“Master… I’m afraid.”
“If I die, what happens to Jennifer?”
“She’s stubborn and loyal to the extreme. If I confess and then die later, she’ll never marry anyone else.”
His voice lowered further.
“I love her. I don’t want her to spend the rest of her life alone because of me.”
“Once I deal with those people, stabilize the Labbe family, and make sure Jennifer can live safely and peacefully, then I’ll confess.”
A faint possessiveness flashed through his eyes.
“In this life, she belongs to me… and I belong to her.”
He wasn’t worried about anyone taking Jennifer away.
No one could.
Jennifer would belong to him forever.
Lilian rolled her eyes. “Do you think we’re all dead already? Do you really think we’d let you die?”
Then she delivered the final blow mercilessly.
“You’re just a coward. Stop making excuses.”
Titus: “...”
