Liberty couldn't help venting.

Even so, she remained hardworking and dedicated every single day.

Compared to the previous head of the family, Liberty was far more responsible.

Although she maintained a firm grip on authority, she treated the members of the family much better. She boldly promoted capable younger members and wasn't afraid they might develop ambitions to challenge her position.

She had both the ability and the means to keep everything under control.

In reality, most members of the Farrell family weren't particularly ambitious. As long as they were given opportunities, they worked diligently and focused on doing their jobs well.

Most people simply wanted stability.

As long as they could make a decent living, they had no interest in causing trouble.

Despite having no established network of support when she took over, Liberty carried the enormous responsibility of leading the Farrell family and steadily moved everything forward.

Livia, however, had grown up within the Farrell family. Everyone had watched her mature and knew what she was capable of. When she eventually inherited the family's leadership from her mother, her path would undoubtedly be much smoother than Liberty's had been.

“Sonny, when are you coming home? I've found a young woman I really like for you. I've met her several times and asked around about her character. I think she'd be a wonderful match.”

“Come home, and I'll arrange for the two of you to have dinner together. Even if nothing comes of it, you can still be friends. You don't even have a single female friend.”

Liberty couldn't help feeling anxious that her accomplished son still didn't have a girlfriend.

“Mom, I have another business trip coming up, so I won't have time to come home. After that, I have to fly to Havenmill. Titus needs my help, and I don't know when I'll be back. I honestly don't have time for blind dates.”

Sonny declined naturally.

He genuinely didn't have time.

“Oh,” Liberty replied before asking, “Another business trip? Where are you going? Let me see how far it is. If it isn't too far, I'll bring the young woman there so you can have a meal together.”

“I'm going to Duatemalo. It's pretty far, Mom. Don't worry. Trust your son—I won't stay single forever.”

Liberty sighed.

“You're already over thirty and still single. How can I not worry? I want to trust you, but you have to give me something to believe in. Every time I arrange a blind date, you tell me you're too busy.

“The young woman I have in mind is truly wonderful. She's not from Jensburg. Farrell Group has done business with her company, and that's how I got to know her.”

Holding the phone in one hand, Sonny picked up the glass of warm water the butler had prepared with the other and took a couple of sips.

“Mom, I really don't have the time. How about this? During the Spring Festival holiday, you can arrange it then.”

“Do we really have to wait until Spring Festival? What about the Mid-Autumn Festival or the National Day holiday?”

To Liberty, the New Year still felt far away.

She wished her son could come home immediately for a blind date.

“Well, we'll see how things go. I'll come back the next time I have a vacation.”

Only then was Liberty satisfied.

“Mom,” Sonny continued, “since you actually got off work early today, shouldn't you go out with Uncle Duncan? You can't always put work first. You need to spend more time with him too. He's been supporting you all these years, and it hasn't been easy for him.”

Feeling a little embarrassed after being lectured by her son, Liberty smiled.

“I know. Your Uncle Duncan and I have been married for a long time.”

“So what if you've been married for a long time?” Duncan interjected after overhearing Sonny's comment. “Does that mean we can't still go out together?”

Liberty gently nudged her husband, who had leaned closer, and laughed.

“You're still acting like a kid. Fine, we'll go out for a walk in a little while. I'll spend some time with you.”

She realized that she had, in fact, been neglecting her husband's feelings.
