Ch. 5481: Married at First Sight Chapter 5481

Chapter 5481

After Titus left, Secretary Tia escorted Mr. Deng and Secretary Zhany out of the VIP room.

"Mr. Deng, would you like to see Vice President Timothy?"

She had worked with Mr. Deng several times and knew about his relationship with Timothy. Right now, she assumed the person he most wanted to see was Timothy.

Meanwhile, Timothy was waiting in his new office, expecting to hear that the negotiations between Titus and Mr. Deng had fallen apart.

Titus claimed he knew the Labbe Group inside and out.

So what?

Mr. Deng wasn't an easy client to win over. Timothy had spent considerable time building that relationship before finally persuading him to work with the Labbe Group.

Now that Titus had just taken over, Timothy doubted Mr. Deng would give him much respect.

If the negotiations collapsed, Titus would lose face on his very first day as president, and everyone's opinion of him would change.

Mr. Deng remained silent, silently confirming her guess.

Secretary Tia then led him downstairs to Timothy's office.

Timothy's new secretary called through the internal line to let him know that Secretary Tia had arrived with Mr. Deng.

Timothy was overjoyed.

Just as he had expected.

He believed Titus couldn't handle Mr. Deng.

This client had been his achievement from the very beginning. He had cultivated the relationship himself.

If the two companies successfully partnered, it would become another impressive accomplishment on his record.

Then who could claim he was less capable than his father?

He had always kept a low profile because he didn't want to stir up unnecessary trouble.

If he acted recklessly, he could easily squander the legacy left by his ancestors.

"Show them in."

Timothy instructed his secretary to bring them inside.

Moments later, the office door opened.

Secretary Tia led Mr. Deng and Secretary Zhany into the room.

"Vice President Labbe, Mr. Deng and Secretary Zhany are here."

Her sweet voice should have sounded pleasant, but hearing the title "Vice President Labbe" made Timothy extremely uncomfortable.

Still, he couldn't object.

Starting today, he was no longer President Labbe.

He was Vice President Labbe.

Titus had replaced him and reclaimed the authority that had never truly belonged to him.

After all, Titus was the legitimate head of the Labbe family.

Timothy had only been serving as acting head.

Now that the rightful family head had returned, stepping aside was only natural.

The fact that Titus hadn't forced him into immediate retirement was already giving him considerable respect.

It was also for the benefit of the company's longtime employees.

No matter how capable Titus was, he had only just assumed leadership. Making sweeping changes immediately wouldn't have been wise.

Timothy stood, walked around his desk, and greeted Mr. Deng with a broad smile.

"Mr. Deng, welcome. I apologize for the recent personnel changes within our company. I won't be handling the partnership with your company anymore."

Of course, he could have continued managing it.

He had simply chosen not to.

He wanted to watch Titus embarrass himself.

After inviting Mr. Deng to sit, Timothy signaled for Secretary Tia to prepare tea.

Secretary Tia wanted to tell him that the contract had already been signed, but in the end, she decided it was better for Mr. Deng to break the news himself.

She quietly turned and headed to the break room to make tea.

Inside, she pulled out her phone several times, intending to send a message or make a call.

Each time, she hesitated.

Eventually, she slipped it back into her pocket.

The company had just undergone a major leadership change.

For now, she was still the president's secretary.

But she had no idea how much longer that would last.

Titus's secretary at the Lonen Group was a man.

He clearly preferred not to hire female secretaries, most likely to avoid unnecessary entanglements.

Titus wasn't interested in romance.

The only young woman he treated differently was Jennifer, his bodyguard.
