Ch. 5486: Married at First Sight Chapter 5486
Chapter 5486
"President, I'm sorry. That was my mistake. I shouldn't have asked Miss Jennifer to help me."
Realizing she had crossed the line, Secretary Tia immediately apologized.
People often said that Landen treated his personal female bodyguard exceptionally well. Seeing it for herself today, she knew the rumors were true.
Secretary Tia couldn't help feeling a mix of envy, jealousy, and resentment toward Jennifer.
She envied Jennifer for being able to stay so close to Titus. She was jealous of the trust Titus placed in her and the fact that she was the only young woman allowed by his side. And she resented Jennifer for refusing such a small favor, leaving her to be reprimanded by the president.
If Jennifer had simply agreed to help, she would have followed her into the tea room the moment she called. Then none of this would have happened.
Secretary Tia went into the tea room alone, washed nine cups, filled each with warm water, arranged them on a tray, and carried them back.
She had insisted on bringing Jennifer along even though she could easily handle the task herself. The real reason was that she couldn't stand seeing Jennifer standing behind Titusβa position countless women wished they could have.
But no one could replace Jennifer.
After serving everyone a cup of warm water, Secretary Tia saw Titus gesture for her to leave, making it clear she wasn't needed in the office.
The cup she placed in front of Titus wasn't meant to be drunk immediately. It simply rested on the coffee table.
"Did you all come to see me because there's something important to discuss?"
"If it's clan business, we can talk after work. You could also just call me, and we can discuss it over the phone."
Titus spoke politely, without any trace of arrogance despite being the patriarch.
But everyone present knew this young patriarch was anything but soft-hearted.
The elders all turned to look at Lennox.
After taking another sip of water, Lennox cleared his throat.
"Patriarch, since you haven't moved into the family estate yet, it's inconvenient for everyone to meet with you. That's why we came to the company."
"We've already started moving out and will definitely vacate the estate within the deadline set by the homeowner."
"If you're eager to move in, you can stay at the villa first. Although it's smaller than the old estate, it's beautifully designed, has excellent scenery, and features a lovely garden."
He continued, "The other residences are all nearby, so it'll be much more convenient if anyone needs to see you."
Whether it was the main residence or the branch family homes, they were all located close to one another. Only the privately owned residences were farther away.
After Titus's parents and family were murdered, his family's private residence had stood empty for thirty years. No one lived there or maintained it, leaving it worn down and abandoned.
Titus had secretly visited it several times.
Back then, he couldn't openly restore or manage the property because he hadn't revealed his identity.
Now that his identity was public, he fully intended to reclaim and restore everything his parents had left behind.
He had little doubt that much of his family's private property had already been divided among the clan.
That didn't matter.
He would investigate everything, one piece at a time.
Whatever belonged to his family would be taken back, no matter who currently possessed it.
There was no reason to let anyone else keep what rightfully belonged to them.
"If anyone needs me, they can simply call. It doesn't matter where I'm living."
"Uncle Lennox, tell meβwhat exactly brings you here today?"
More than anything, Titus wanted Lennox to move out as soon as possible so the old estate could be renovated.
Then he and Jennifer could move in.
When Sonny came over, he could stay there too. It would make the place much livelier.
Otherwise, such a massive estate would feel far too quiet with only him and Jennifer living there.
Better yet, he could invite all the younger brothers from the Johnson and York families to spend some time at the Labbe family's estate.
If those guys showed up...
Now that would be lively.
