Ch. 5495: Married at First Sight Chapter 5495
Chapter 5495
After a brief silence, Jennifer suddenly said,
"Young Master, Secretary Tia likes you."
She could tell.
Not only that, Secretary Tia was jealous of her.
She couldn't stand seeing Jennifer by Titus's side.
It wasn't just Secretary Tia.
Many people envied Jennifer because she was with the young master every day, even though they had never seen his real face. Perhaps it was because his status and influence kept rising.
People were jealous of her.
Even the Labbe family's elders insisted she wasn't worthy of him.
But whether she was worthy or not wasn't for them to decide.
At first, Jennifer had been bothered by those comments.
Over the past two days, however, she had come to terms with them.
She no longer cared what anyone else thought.
As Jane had told her, as long as Titus didn't think she was unworthy, no one else's opinion mattered.
After all, she and Titus were the ones who would spend their lives togetherโnot anyone else.
And everyone Titus truly considered family supported their relationship and hoped they would get married soon.
"I'll have Human Resources hire a male secretary," Titus said. "Once we find one, Secretary Tia will be replaced. She used to work for Timothy, and I have no intention of keeping her."
He continued, "Secretary Tia isn't the only woman who's interested in me. There have always been others. But I don't have feelings for any of them, so why should I care if they like me?
Besides, I don't like having female secretaries."
Both he and Sonny had always used male secretaries.
Perhaps it was because they had grown up watching the older generation do the same.
Uncle Zack, Uncle Ben, Uncle Yorkโthey all hired male secretaries.
They were all exceptionally attractive men.
If they hired female secretaries, it would only invite unnecessary romantic feelings.
Although they were completely loyal to their wives, constantly dealing with admirers could still put unnecessary strain on their marriages.
Those men adored their wives.
Why would they willingly create more romantic rivals for them?
"It won't take long," Titus added. "I expect a replacement to be here as early as tomorrow."
Then he looked at Jennifer.
"Jennifer, other than me, you don't have to listen to anyone here. No one has the authority to order you around."
Jennifer nodded.
"I know. Secretary Tia asked me to do something earlier, but I didn't do it."
She understood the situation perfectly.
Secretary Tia wouldn't be staying much longer.
Since she was one of Timothy's people, Jennifer had no reason to take orders from her.
The only people Jennifer was willing to help were those the young master trusted.
Even then, they rarely came to her about work.
Most of the time, they sought her out when Titus was in a terrible mood.
Whenever he buried himself in work and pushed both himself and his employees to their limits, they would ask Jennifer to persuade him to slow down.
Working overtime once in a while was manageable.
Working overtime every single day was exhausting.
Before long, someone would probably come looking for her again.
At Longteng Group, everyone knew Jennifer wasn't technically an employee.
Yet no one could replace her.
Whenever the president lost his temper, only Sister Jennifer or Vice President Sonny could calm him down.
But Sonny wasn't always in the company.
Jennifer, on the other hand, was always by Titus's side.
That was why everyone turned to her for help.
"Young Master, you're busy. I'll finish organizing the office."
Jennifer continued tidying his office.
Titus gave a quiet hum in response before burying himself in work once again.
True to his word, he skipped every evening engagement.
As soon as the workday ended, Titus left the company with Jennifer and his team of bodyguards.
Secretary Tia stood inside the office building, silently watching the convoy disappear through the company gates.
Her expression was unreadable.
No one could tell what she was thinking.
"Secretary Tia, are you standing here watching the sunset?"
Timothy's voice came from behind her.
