“Sometimes I just go out for a quick walk and don’t bother with sunblock,” Serenity replied, grinning. “Am I really that dark?” She turned to Elisa. “Do I look like I just came back from Africa?”

Elisa laughed. “Not that bad—you’re just a little darker than usual.”

Jasmine chimed in, “Zachary, Grandma York’s trying to hint that you should buy Serenity some whitening skincare.”

Serenity chuckled. “Don’t bother—I already have too much. I can’t even use it all.”

All the big brands sent her samples whenever they released a new line. If Grandma York endorsed a product, sales were guaranteed.

Zachary also liked to buy her skincare sets now and then.

“I only have one face,” Serenity teased. “If you keep buying me more, they’ll expire before I can even open them. Such a waste.”

Even after being the York family’s eldest daughter-in-law for years, she never lost her down-to-earth personality.

She still held onto her simple habits—just because she had money didn’t mean she would waste it.

Zachary smiled. “I already bought two sets. I figured you might get a tan while traveling, so I prepared them in advance.”

Even after all these years, Zachary still loved her deeply and spoiled her like crazy.

As they talked and laughed, everyone made their way into the main house.

Jasmine smiled, “Serenity, you’re so thoughtful. You took the kids on a trip and still remembered to bring us all souvenirs. The food must’ve been amazing, right?”

“Don’t worry,” Serenity said. “I only bought the good stuff. I tried everything first—if it didn’t taste great, I didn’t buy it.”

Jasmine laughed. “Then I won’t be polite—I’m diving in as soon as I get home.”

“Brother! Belle!”

Just then, the children’s excited shouts echoed from outside.

“Colson and the rest are here!”

Maverick’s face lit up. He hadn’t seen his little cousins in a while.

Without hesitation, he jumped up and ran to the front door to greet them.

“Brother! Brother!”

Belle heard the familiar voices and, like a loyal little follower, perked up with joy and tried to run out with her brother.

The old lady gently set her down and smiled. “Go on then. But be careful—don’t fall.”
