Ch. 4668: Married At First Sight Chapter 4668

Chapter 4668

Trenton looked at Nancy’s profile and swallowed his words. He just smiled instead.

Nancy kept her eyes locked forward, walking a little faster. Her heart was racing. She’d blurted out that joke about his girlfriend, but now she was too nervous to look at him.

When Trenton didn’t respond, she felt a twinge of disappointment.

Maybe to him, they were just friends. Old classmates. Nothing more.

Still, there was plenty of time. She could be patient.

One day, when she gathered enough courage, she’d confess her feelings.

Her best friend had told her: if you don’t try, you’ll regret it.

They exited the subway station and walked a few hundred meters to a nearby hotel. It wasn’t as upscale or glamorous as Wiltspoon Hotel, but it was still a well-known, reputable spot in the city.

Trenton liked the food there, saying it was nearly as good as Wiltspoon Hotel’s.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t afford the fancy hotel—it was just that Nancy had once said it felt too expensive, and it was too far from her office.

She'd joked that even street food would taste amazing as long as she was eating with him.

So Trenton didn’t insist. He simply made a reservation at this hotel, like always.

When they arrived, they headed straight to the second floor.

A waiter greeted them with a smile. “Do you have a reservation?”

“Yes,” Trenton replied. “Last name Newman.”

The waiter checked the list, nodded, and led them to a private dining room.

Trenton was familiar with the place and ordered quickly—choosing several dishes that he knew Nancy liked.

After jotting down the order, the waiter excused himself.

A moment later, another waitress came in to serve tea. She seemed startled when she saw Trenton, but quickly composed herself and poured them each half a cup of tea.

Without a word, she turned to leave.

At the doorway, she paused and glanced back at Trenton—twice—before finally leaving.

She soon spotted a colleague and stopped her.

“Hey,” she whispered, “do you know that handsome guy in the private room?”

The other waitress nodded. “Yeah, that’s Trenton. Young master of the Newman family. He comes here often with his girlfriend.”

“He has a girlfriend? Was that girl just now his girlfriend?”

“She should be. He always brings that same girl whenever he dines here. But I haven’t heard any official news about him being in a relationship, so who knows? We just assume she is.”

“Still… if she’s not his girlfriend, why bring her all the time?”

The second waitress gave her a look. “Asi, don’t tell me you’re crushing on him? Don’t get blinded by his looks. Guys like him—young masters from wealthy families—aren’t in our league.”

The girl named Asi blushed and waved her hands. “No, no, I’m not! I just thought he was really handsome. That’s all.”

“Look, just enjoy from a distance. Trenton may be rich and good-looking, but his background’s a bit… messy. His parents are both in prison. His second sister too—well, she used to be. She’s missing now. Rumor has it he’s still trying to find her.”

“The Newmans are complicated. His eldest sister is married into the York family—she’s the one running everything now.”

Asi nodded slowly. “Oh… I see.”
