Ch. 4704: Married At First Sight Chapter 4704

Chapter 4704

Romina glanced across the table at the man sitting opposite her. River blinked slowly, reading her expression. Was this about him?

She looked him straight in the eye. “Where’s the party?”

“To make it easier for you, everyone agreed on the Eaglioncile Hotel,” the monitor replied. “You go there all the time—convenient, right?”

“Perfect,” Romina said smoothly. “Tomorrow night it is. My treat. Since everyone’s so curious about President York, I’ll bring him along. He’s even more handsome in person than in photos—more refined, more masculine.”

River: “…”

When she hung up, River asked, “So your classmates want you to bring me?”

“Exactly,” Romina replied. “There are all kinds of rumors about us, and they’re dying to know the truth. Since they’re so curious, I’ll give them a show. You’re not bad to look at, so I’ll let them see what a high-quality man looks like.”

River’s gaze sharpened. “And in what capacity am I supposed to be there?”

“As my sworn enemy.”

“Your sworn enemy doesn’t go to a class reunion with you. I’d just cause trouble.”

“That’s the point,” she said. “They want to see us love and hate each other.”

River exhaled in disbelief. “Romina… you’re unbelievable.”

“Don’t want to go?” she teased. “That’s fine. I’ll just tell them I was too competitive with you to convince you to come.”

“I didn’t say I wouldn’t go,” he countered. “You dare to invite me, so why not? But if I’m going as your sworn enemy, I expect something in return. I’m not working for free—businessmen don’t take losses.”

Romina thought for a moment. “Yantail hasn’t been that busy lately, right? Lafond Group could help lighten the load. We’re in the same industry, and our quality is top-notch—you don’t have to worry about that.”

It was more than an offer—it was a signal of cooperation.

She remembered something Serenity had told her before leaving two days ago: in business, there are no eternal enemies or allies—only mutual interests.

Lafond and Yantail might be competitors, but they could still work together. Transformation wasn’t the only way forward. Both companies were already considering diversification.

The market was changing fast, and even the biggest corporations were under immense pressure to keep up. Survival was about adaptability.

River’s lips curved. “I’ve always respected Lafond’s quality. You’ve been a benchmark for me.”

“Then I’ll see you tomorrow to discuss the details,” Romina said.

River was glad for the opportunity, though he knew the industry had little room for further growth. If Yantail didn’t adapt, it would hit trouble again in a few years—and he wouldn’t let that happen.

With multiple branches and over ten thousand employees, a downturn would mean massive layoffs. Many of his people had been with him since the beginning. In this economy, finding new jobs would be hard.

“I’ll pick you up tomorrow night,” River said. “We’ll give your classmates something to talk about—and to envy.”

Romina’s smile turned sly. “Even without you, I’d still be the one they envy—and hate.”
