Ch. 4735: Married At First Sight Chapter 4735
Chapter 4735
The director explained, “I recognized three of the people in that ward. One is the eldest young master of the York family, another is his wife—the eldest young mistress—and the third is the third young master. The man standing at the bedside? I’ve never seen him before.
But if the York family brothers are here together, that patient must be one of them. They’re known for being close-knit. If one of them gets into trouble, the others show up.
The eldest young master and his wife had a flash marriage, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They already have a son and a daughter. People talk about them all the time. The eldest young mistress came from an ordinary background, so everyone knows her story.
As for the eldest young master—he’s the head of the York family and constantly in the news. That stern face of his? Hard to forget.”
Aitana listened, then asked calmly, “Even if they are the heirs of the wealthiest family, we’re doctors. Our job is to treat patients. Why should that make us nervous?”
The old doctor chuckled. “No reason to be afraid. The true heirs of powerful families are usually well-educated and polite. Except for the eldest young master—he always looks serious—but overall, they seem approachable. At least on the surface.
Generally speaking, they’re good people. I’m not telling you this to scare you—I just want you to double-check everything and make sure he heals properly. The York family is connected to the miracle doctor, after all.”
Every medical professional had heard the legend of the miracle doctor.
Aitana’s curiosity sparked. “The miracle doctor… is he still alive?” She had heard stories from her professors. “Wasn’t he a senior from decades ago? If he’s still alive, he must be really old by now and probably retired.”
The old doctor nodded. “He’s alive, but he doesn’t see patients anymore. His only direct disciple—Dr. Carden—is the new miracle doctor. She’s the one in close contact with the York family.”
Admiration flickered in Aitana’s eyes. “I’d love to meet Dr. Carden someday and ask her some questions.”
The old doctor gave a knowing smile. “That won’t be easy. Dr. Carden is extremely busy, and most people can’t even get an appointment. But the York family can—she’s close friends with several of their young ladies. In fact, the second young lady of the York family had her eyesight restored thanks to Dr. Carden.”
Then he shifted gears abruptly. “Aitana, you’re still single, right?”
Her answer slipped out instinctively. “I was in a relationship, but we broke up three years ago. He found someone… ‘better.’ Said I couldn’t help him get ahead or open doors for him.”
She came from a family of doctors—her grandparents and parents practiced Traditional Medicine, while her generation leaned toward Western medicine, though they all studied both. Most people considered her family exceptional.
The old doctor frowned. “Then good riddance. What kind of ‘better’ man trades love for status? He wouldn’t have appreciated your background anyway.”
Aitana sighed softly. “It’s in the past. We’ve been apart for three years now. No point dwelling on it.”
The old doctor nodded sympathetically. “You’re talented, Aitana. You’ll find someone better.”
She gave him a teasing smile. “Director, are you trying to play matchmaker all of a sudden?”
He chuckled. “Not at all. Just making conversation.”
“Alright, I’m heading back to my office,” Aitana said, and left with a nod.
Inside the ward, Alex stretched out on the hospital bed and grinned at his brothers and sister-in-law.
“Big Brother, Sister-in-law, Third Brother, Fifth Brother—I’ll stay for a few extra days. Might as well turn this into a full physical while I’m here.”
