Ch. 4852: Married At First Sight Chapter 4852

Chapter 4852

Yehua hadn’t told Joaquin to give up right away. Instead, she urged him to hold on a little longer.

She loved him. His relentless pursuit of Aitana hurt her deeply, yet she still understood him, supported him, and encouraged him.

Wasn’t this what real love was—wanting someone’s happiness, even if it wasn’t with you?

Aitana herself had told Joaquin he already had someone who truly loved him right in front of him. She’d urged him to choose that person instead of wasting his time on her.

Yehua had been by Joaquin’s side since the day he opened the clinic. Over the years, they had built a quiet rapport.

But Yehua’s life was as heavy as Joaquin’s. She had two younger brothers, aging parents with no pensions, no health insurance, and no savings. Her family had managed to build a three-story house back in their hometown, but it was obvious the house was meant for her brothers, not her.

Her youngest brother was still in elementary school, the older one just starting junior high. As her parents grew less able to care for them, her brothers turned more and more to her for help.

For years, Yehua had poured nearly her entire salary into building and supporting that household.

Joaquin, meanwhile, felt drained supporting his own family. He endured it out of kinship and for his parents’ reputation. He’d bought a house in Wiltspoon so he wouldn’t have to return home often, but his parents and siblings still lived there and still relied on him.

If he failed to do well, people would talk. He couldn’t bear to bring shame to his family name. So whenever a relative needed help, he gave all he could—even if all he could give was advice.

Because of this exhaustion, he didn’t want to marry another woman weighed down by the same obligations. Yehua was kind, but she was like him—burdened.

Aitana, though, could offer him a different kind of life.

If he married Aitana, even if he paid a betrothal gift, her family would have her back.

If he married Yehua, no matter how much he paid, her parents would likely expect her to keep supporting her brothers.

That was the difference between marrying someone with a strong family and someone without.

The Legare Family Clinic was profitable, but even it couldn’t survive endless demands.

“I love Aitana,” Joaquin said, more to himself than to Yehua. “I won’t give up easily.”

Marrying Aitana would be a turning point for him.

He wouldn’t quit—unless she married someone else.

Yehua forced a smile. “The Pollock family already has a good impression of you, Dr. Legare. Keep working hard, win them over. Maybe one day you’ll win her heart too.”

Joaquin took the tea she had poured and drained it in one swallow.

Setting the cup down without meeting her eyes, he murmured, “I hope so. Yehua, it would be wonderful if you had Aitana’s background.”

Yehua gave a small, bitter smile. She also wished she had Dr. Pollock’s background. But deep down, she knew that if she did, she probably wouldn’t accept Joaquin’s family situation either.

In her heart, she believed Joaquin wasn’t truly worthy of Dr. Pollock.

But she wasn’t foolish enough to say it aloud. She still hoped that one day Joaquin would give up on Aitana and choose her instead.

She worked tirelessly to help him run the clinic, clinging to the hope that one day she would become the owner of the Legare Family Clinic.
