Ch. 4866: Married At First Sight Chapter 4866
Chapter 4866
...
A week later. Eaglioncile.
By a little after four in the afternoon, the sun had softened from its midday blaze.
At Lafayette Group, closing time was an hour away.
River had turned the entrance into a sea of flowers. He stood there in a sharp suit and tie, holding a bouquet of roses and a diamond ring, ready to propose to Romina.
He had even rented a small helicopter to drop his proposal from the sky and shower the area with flower petals, making the moment unforgettable.
This proposal was destined to succeed.
Both families had already met and approved. River also knew the Lafayette family was encouraging Romina to marry him soon. He hadn’t proposed yet, and he wanted her to have what other women had—a proper proposal.
So today, he planned to surprise her right after work, in front of everyone at her company.
The commotion hadn’t gone unnoticed. Many Lafayette Group employees already knew what was happening, though Romina herself had no idea.
River had asked everyone not to spoil the surprise.
Soon enough, 5:30 p.m. arrived—time to clock out.
Employees streamed out of the building, only to stop in awe at the breathtaking display. River, handsome and confident, stood among the flowers with a bouquet in hand.
Is he about to propose to Vice President Lafayette?
Those without urgent plans stayed behind, eager to witness the scene. Within minutes, the entire entrance was packed.
Romina emerged with several clients in tow. She had spent the whole afternoon negotiating a deal and had finally secured the contracts.
But as soon as she neared the main entrance, she sensed something unusual.
Why was there such a large crowd gathered?
Worried that something serious had happened, she quickly excused herself from her clients and hurried ahead. If it was a crisis and the media caught wind of it, the company’s reputation could take a huge hit.
“Vice President Lafayette is here!” someone shouted.
The crowd immediately parted, clearing a path for her.
Romina walked forward, frowning. “What’s going on? Why are you all crowding here with your phones out?”
Then her eyes fell on the sea of flowers. She froze in surprise.
Just then, River gave the signal. The helicopter flew overhead, unfurling a long red banner that read: Romina, I love you. Marry me.
A moment later, flower petals cascaded down from the sky, like a dazzling rain of blossoms.
River stepped forward, knelt on one knee, and gazed up at her with unwavering affection.
“Romina, I love you. Will you marry me? I promise to cherish you, to treat you well, and only you—for the rest of my life.”
Romina’s heart skipped a beat.
“River… are you really proposing to me?” she asked softly.
She had been thinking of giving him a hint, but he had already prepared everything, right here in front of her colleagues.
“Vice President Lafayette, say yes!” someone in the crowd shouted.
Others joined in, cheering. “Say yes!”
Romina’s face flushed with both joy and shyness. No matter how strong she was at work, being proposed to so publicly made her bashful.
Still, she quickly reached out, took the bouquet from River’s hands, and said with a radiant smile:
“River, I love you too. And yes—I’m willing to marry you.”
