Ch. 4970: Married At First Sight Chapter 4970
Chapter 4970
The old lady smiled kindly. “Alright, I won’t wander off. I’ll just wait here for him. Dr. Pollock, you go on—you’ve got plenty of patients waiting.”
Though Aitana was young and had only recently transferred to Wiltspoon City Hospital, her medical skills were exceptional. At first, some patients doubted her because of her age, but after being treated by her, they became completely convinced of her ability.
Every time Aitana worked in the outpatient department, her appointments filled up quickly.
After giving the old lady a few more instructions, Aitana returned to her consultation room to continue seeing patients.
A short while later, Alex returned and found his grandmother sitting patiently outside the clinic. He walked over and whispered, “Grandma, why are you sitting out here? Don’t you want to chat with Dr. Pollock a bit more?”
The old lady shook her head. “Now isn’t the right time, and it’s not appropriate. Can’t you see how many people are still waiting to see her? Let’s finish the checkups first. Once she’s off work, we can come back and talk. Then we’ll invite her to dinner.”
Alex nodded, immediately understanding his grandmother’s plan. He helped her to the next round of tests.
Big hospitals were always crowded—there were lines everywhere. By the time the old lady completed all her tests, it was already late afternoon.
Worried that Aitana might have already left, the old lady told Alex, “Go check her clinic first. I’ll wait at the hospital entrance. If she comes out, I’ll find a reason to stop her.”
Alex frowned, clearly worried. “Grandma, I don’t feel right leaving you alone.”
The old lady chuckled. “Who’s going to bother me? I might be old, but no one can bully me. Go on—don’t let all of Grandma’s effort this morning go to waste.”
Just as Alex was about to head off, a familiar voice called out, “Grandma York! Alex!”
They both turned to see Aitana walking toward them, now dressed in casual clothes instead of her white coat.
“Dr. Pollock,” the old lady said with a warm smile, “are you off work?”
“Yes,” Aitana replied, smiling politely. “Grandma York, did you just finish all your tests?”
“Just finished,” Alex said with a small sigh. “There were so many people—every test had a long line.”
Aitana nodded knowingly. “That’s how hospitals are—busy every single day.”
What she truly admired about the old lady was her integrity. Despite her status and influence, she had never once tried to pull strings or jump the queue. She waited patiently, treating others with respect.
It was no wonder she had raised such remarkable grandsons—men like Alex and Zachary didn’t just come from wealth; they came from good values.
“Dr. Pollock, thank you for today,” the old lady said sincerely, reaching out to hold Aitana’s hand.
The three of them walked together toward the hospital entrance.
Aitana smiled modestly. “There’s no need to thank me, Grandma York. I was just doing my job. If anything, I should be the one thanking you for trusting me enough to make an appointment with me.”
The old lady’s smile deepened. “Of course I trust you. You’re a fine doctor. And since we get along so well, let’s have dinner together. My eldest grandson already reserved a private room for us at the Wiltspoon Hotel. I’d love to chat with you a bit more.”
Aitana instinctively protested, “Oh, Grandma York, how could I let you treat me? I should be the one inviting you instead.”
The old lady waved a hand dismissively. “Now, now—don’t be so polite. We’re all friends here. It doesn’t matter who’s paying; what matters is the company. Come along, let’s go have dinner together.”
With the old lady’s warmth and persistence, Aitana couldn’t bring herself to refuse.
In the end, she smiled and nodded. “Alright then, Grandma York. I’ll join you.”
And just like that, the first step of Grandma York’s matchmaking plan fell perfectly into place.
