Ch. 5014: Married At First Sight Chapter 5014

Chapter 5014

They suspected Alex was pretending to be sick just to get closer to Aitana.

Alex said calmly, “I’m perfectly healthy. Why would I fake an illness? If I wanted to see Aitana, I could walk straight in and look for her. I don’t need excuses.”

Joaquin’s expression instantly soured.

“My grandmother came for a checkup yesterday,” Alex added. “I’m just here to pick up her results and let Aitana look them over.”

He walked past Joaquin and headed toward the old lady.

Joaquin and his family instinctively turned to watch him.

And then it hit Joaquin—Alex’s grandmother was none other than the legendary Madam York, known throughout Wiltspoon for her sharp mind, ironclad household management, and exceptional ability to raise her grandchildren.

When Joaquin saw Alex walk directly to the old lady who had been chatting with his mother earlier, his stomach dropped.

That old lady… was Madam York?

Wasn’t Madam York supposed to be in her nineties?
That woman looked barely in her seventies. So she was just that well-preserved?

“Joaquin, who is he? Is he the one who likes Dr. Pollock?” Mrs. Legare whispered.

Joaquin nodded stiffly. “Yes. He’s the eighth young master of the York family—the richest family in the world.”

“The… York family?” Mrs. Legare’s voice cracked. Yehua also looked stunned.

She never imagined that Alex—the man pursuing Aitana—was a young master of that York family. The wealthiest in the world.
The surname alone should’ve been enough for her to guess, but she never dared imagine her son’s romantic rival was from such a powerful household.

After all, people like them and the Yorks might as well live in two different universes.

No wonder Joaquin could never win Aitana’s heart.
His rival was the young master of the richest family on earth.

Mrs. Legare watched Alex help Madam York into Aitana’s consultation room, still frozen in disbelief.

“The old lady I was talking to… was actually Madam York?” she murmured. “No wonder she seemed so graceful and noble. She really was an old lady from a wealthy family.

“She even praised Dr. Pollock, saying she looked lucky and might become a young mistress someday… And I actually told her Dr. Pollock wasn’t that lucky.”
She grabbed Joaquin’s arm. “Does this mean… Madam York approves of Alex and Aitana?”

The realization hit her hard.

She had just been boasting about Yehua and implying Aitana wasn’t fit for a wealthy family—right in front of Madam York.

Now that she knew who Alex really was, she couldn’t bring herself to claim Joaquin was more impressive. Just looking at Alex—his looks, his posture, the way he carried himself—it was obvious he surpassed Joaquin in every aspect.

Yehua couldn’t help feeling a twinge of envy.

Dr. Pollock was truly blessed.

To be admired by Joaquin for years and now also favored by the young master of the richest family in the world—no matter who she chose, people would be jealous of her.

Personally, Yehua hoped Dr. Pollock would choose Alex.
She knew she could never compete with Dr. Pollock’s luck. She didn’t aspire to marry into a wealthy family—she just wanted to marry Joaquin and live a steady life.

“I’ve heard the York family has great traditions,” Yehua said softly. “Their elders are very open-minded. As long as their children like someone, the family doesn’t interfere. So many women dream of marrying into the York family.”

She sighed. “And Dr. Pollock is outstanding. Her family background is already something we admire. No wonder the York elders approve of her.”

It was true—Aitana Pollock was enviable.

So many rich heiresses couldn’t catch Alex York’s attention, yet Dr. Pollock had.

She really was blessed.
