Serenity understood the deeper meaning behind Lilian’s words, and her face flushed slightly.
Indeed, Zachary was exceptionally energetic in their married life.

Serenity’s phone rang.
She quickly picked it up from the coffee table, glanced at the caller ID, and said, “It’s Alex.”
Lilian waved her hand. “Answer it. I’ll go see if my little crybaby is awake yet. He keeps saying he wants to play with his brothers, but everyone else is already up while he’s still dreaming.”
She stood up and walked away, deliberately giving Serenity privacy.
Alex was calling to confirm whether Lilian had arrived. He had stayed in the city the night before, thinking that if she came, he would bring Aitana back to Wildridge Manor for dinner.
“They arrived last night,” Serenity said with a smile. “Lilian came with her family of three, and Jane’s twins came too. They said they missed Uncle Alex. Go pick up Aitana and come back soon. The manor will be very lively these next few days. Elisa and her family are here as well.”
Jasmine, however, hadn’t come.
She was suffering from severe morning sickness—vomiting shortly after eating, then craving food again. She said she hadn’t experienced anything like this when she was pregnant with Milo.
This time, the symptoms were so bad that she had no energy to travel. She left Milo at the York family’s home instead. Milo didn’t want to go home anyway.
Josh felt sorry for his wife and refused to leave her alone, so he stayed behind as well.
Milo, on the other hand, was completely absorbed in life at the York family’s house. When his father tried to take him home, he cried and refused.
Going home couldn’t compare to having so many playmates.
Now that his mother was pregnant with a little brother or sister, his father’s attention was always focused on her. He no longer had the time or energy to take Milo out to play.
Unlike Aunt Serenity.
Every weekend, she either took the children out or brought them back to the resort, where they could run freely.
She’d even promised that during winter vacation, she would take them to Uncle River’s place to see the snow. It snowed heavily there—thick enough to build snowmen and have snowball fights.
Although they had seen snow before, they wanted to see it again in winter.
Wiltspoon never snowed.
Not only did it never snow, it wasn’t even cold. In previous years, temperatures would already be in the teens by this time. This year, with more than a month left before the Lunar New Year, daytime temperatures were still in the twenties.
The adults all said Wiltspoon hadn’t been cold at all this year.
How could it possibly snow?
To see snow, you had to go north.
Milo understood that with his mother pregnant, his parents wouldn’t be able to take him out much anymore—especially not on long trips. So he clung tightly to Aunt Serenity. Wherever she went, she would take him along.
“I’m worried Dr. Carden might suddenly be unable to come,” Alex said. “If that happens, Aitana will be disappointed. I’m going to pick her up now. Sister-in-law, I’ve decided to confess my feelings to her today. What do you think?”
Serenity laughed warmly. “Why not? I’ve been telling you to confess for a long time. You two are already acting like a couple—just missing the words.”
They had been in a couple’s relationship for quite some time now.
“I was thinking of planning something special,” Alex admitted. “But my second brother said sincerity matters more than any plan. I think he’s right. I won’t overthink it.”
“Sincerity is the most important thing.”
