Chapter 5288
Chapter 5288
Jennifer pursed her lips.
“Alright then. I won’t go.”
She was afraid that if she followed him, she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from laughing.
Without Jennifer beside him, Titus shamelessly went around asking people if they knew how to knit sweaters because he wanted to learn.
Before long, the top executives of Lonen Group all heard the news.
Their boss wanted to learn how to knit.
Everyone was completely stunned, wondering if they had misheard.
But the boss had personally asked them.
Did this mean that learning how to knit sweaters would become a required skill for helping the boss manage the company in the future?
Many of them secretly decided that when they went home that night, they would immediately ask their mothers or wives if they knew how to knit—so they could learn as well.
Avah had no idea that her casual suggestion had triggered such a massive chain reaction.
Meanwhile, Sonny had no clue that his partner Titus had practically abandoned work to learn knitting.
Even though the Francoeur family’s grandfather and granddaughter didn’t actually need him to accompany them today, Sonny still went to the Wiltspoon Grand Hotel early in the morning to continue showing them around the area.
Winnie bought several local specialties.
Sonny said they tasted good, so she tried them on the spot and liked them. She decided to bring some home for her mother to try.
She also bought a set of jewelry and two sets of skincare products.
These were all gifts she had prepared for her mother.
Whenever she traveled for business, if she had spare time, she would buy something to bring back for her mother.
Although her mother was easily influenced and often taken advantage of by her uncles and aunts, she was still Winnie’s biological mother—and she loved her dearly.
As long as her mother didn’t interfere with company affairs or try to push her cousins into senior management positions at the Francoeur Group, Winnie was willing to keep her happy and fulfill her duty as a daughter.
Watching her shop, Sonny asked, “Miss Winnie, aren’t you going to buy a couple of skincare products for yourself?”
Winnie replied, “I haven’t finished the ones I’m using yet, so I don’t need more for now.”
“What about cosmetics?” Sonny asked.
“I have plenty.”
Winnie lacked nothing.
She worked hard and earned a lot of money—of course she wouldn’t mistreat herself.
Still, Sonny picked out a skincare set suitable for women her age.
“Miss Winnie, I don’t have any other gift for you, so I’ll buy you this set of skincare products,” he said.
Winnie immediately refused. “There’s no need. Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Brown, but I really don’t need it.”
Sonny insisted, “Miss Winnie, you came all this way. How can we let you leave empty-handed? This is just my way of treating guests. I always give my clients a small gift as a token of appreciation.”
In truth, many of Sonny’s clients brought him generous gifts before discussing business, and he would reciprocate afterward.
But Winnie was someone he personally insisted on giving a gift to.
After hearing that, Winnie didn’t refuse again.
After all, she sometimes gave gifts to her own clients too.
Sonny bought her a skincare set. He also prepared a gift for Old Master Francoeur—and even bought something for Mrs. Francoeur, whom he had never met, for Winnie to bring back.
“Mr. Brown, you’re too kind,” Winnie said politely. “You’ve gone to so much trouble.”
Sonny smiled. “It’s just a small token. I hope you won’t find it too modest.”
Old Master Francoeur didn’t stand on ceremony at all. He happily accepted whatever Sonny gave him.
Since his granddaughter had no interest in the eldest son of the York family, Old Master Francoeur had begun setting his sights on Sonny instead.
He hoped that perhaps his granddaughter and Sonny might spark a romance.
