Chapter 5325

Jennifer said calmly, “It’s good that you’ve made your decision, Young Master. I’m just your bodyguard—my responsibility is your safety. I don’t interfere in anything else.”

Landen looked at her for a moment, as if he wanted to say something. In the end, he didn’t. He simply sighed and returned to his work.

Once Landen focused, Jennifer no longer needed to keep watch inside. She stepped out of the CEO’s office but stayed nearby, settling into a seat outside. Picking up a few magazines, she flipped through them casually to pass the time.

The secretary brought her a glass of warm water. “Sister Jennifer, here.”

Jennifer gave a slight nod.

Landen’s secretary was a man a couple of years younger than both of them. He had worked under Landen for several years and had earned his trust.

Everyone at Lonen Group knew that while Jennifer was officially just a bodyguard, she wasn’t ordinary. She and Landen had grown up together—eighteen years of shared history. The way Landen treated her made it clear she was different, someone no one dared underestimate.

Everyone—including Belle—addressed her as Sister Jennifer.

“Sister Jennifer,” the secretary asked carefully, “has President Young-Johnson said how to handle what Miss Labbe is doing at the entrance?”

Jennifer didn’t even look up from her magazine. “Young Master has already arranged everything. We don’t need to worry about it. Go do your work.”

“Understood.” The secretary nodded quickly. “If you need anything, just let me know.”

Knowing she wasn’t one for conversation, he didn’t press further and returned to his duties.

Outside the building, Renata stood at the entrance, supervising as her people arranged the flowers she had brought into a massive red heart.

She stepped back to admire it.

A vivid sea of red—bold, striking, impossible to ignore.

Nice.

No one had ever prepared something like this for her before.

Now she had done it for Landen—completely disregarding her status as Miss Labbe, ignoring the whispers, the ridicule, the judgment. She didn’t care if people thought she was shameless for relentlessly pursuing him.

The more Landen rejected her, the stronger her desire to conquer him became.

Even without her father’s urging, she would have pursued him. And once she had him… she would slowly push Jennifer out of his life.

If possible, she’d remove her entirely.

Renata took out her phone and snapped several photos of the flower display.

Her people continued arranging the message with fresh blooms.

Meanwhile, Lonen Group’s security stood by, watching. They didn’t interfere. They had already received instructions—someone else would handle it.

The guards exchanged quiet remarks among themselves.

Miss Labbe really had no shame.

She’d been rejected and humiliated by Mr. Young-Johnson more than once, yet she kept coming back. She hadn’t even seen his true face, yet here she was, publicly declaring her love.

Everyone could see through it—except her.

Wasn’t she afraid he might turn out to be an old man?

If he were, would she still be this determined?

“What are you all standing around for?” Renata snapped. “Call Landen right now. Tell him I’m here, confessing my feelings publicly. No matter how he treats me, I love him.”

She had gone all in.

At the banquet, he had humiliated her completely. Since her pride was already shattered, what was left to lose?

If he wouldn’t give her peace, she wouldn’t give him any either.

She wanted the entire city of Havenmill to know.

One of the security guards replied evenly, “Miss Labbe, our boss is busy. Whether you confess is your choice. Whether he accepts is his.”

He paused, then added, “And he won’t.”

Even if the two companies weren’t rivals, their boss still wouldn’t choose her.

Everyone knew who he cared about. "Sister Jennifer.”

“Miss Labbe,” the guard continued, “I suggest you have your people clear out. The boss will be leaving soon. If his car drives through here, these flowers will end up nothing more than crushed petals.”

The boss wouldn’t care about them at all.
