Chapter 5358
Chapter 5358
Livia went silent for a moment.
“…Belle is our cousin,” she said flatly. “Of course they’re close. I’m asking if my brother has a romantic interest. You’re his secretary—you’re with him all the time. You should know.”
The secretary shook his head. “Then no. The boss doesn’t have close relationships with young women. Most of the women he interacts with are much older—ten, twenty years older, sometimes even grandmothers.”
Livia frowned. “None closer to his age? What about the daughters or granddaughters of those business leaders?”
“They do bring them along sometimes,” the secretary replied. “But there’s very little interaction with the boss.”
He added with a smile, “If the boss were in a relationship, he wouldn’t hide it from you. He dotes on you too much. There wouldn’t be secrets between you.”
Livia nodded slightly. That much she believed.
“I know he’d tell me if he were dating,” she said. “But he’s not, which is why I’m asking—just to see if there’s any possibility. He’s already in his thirties. My parents are eager for him to settle down.”
The secretary shook his head again. “There really isn’t anyone.”
Livia thought for a moment, then rephrased her question. “Alright—then is there any young woman who isn’t affected by him? Someone who doesn’t light up the moment she sees him?”
The secretary hesitated, then said uncertainly, “There might be one… President Francoeur. Not sure if she counts.”
Livia’s interest sharpened instantly. “President Francoeur? Which one?”
“The president of the Francoeur Group,” he explained. “She’s a woman—around twenty-eight or twenty-nine, a bit younger than the boss. Not long ago, our company signed a cooperation deal with her group. Chairman Francoeur brought her here, and they stayed in Wiltspoon for a few days.”
“The boss accompanied her the entire time. They seemed to get along well. But unlike other women, she wasn’t dazzled by him.”
He paused, choosing his words carefully. “There was appreciation in her eyes—but nothing more. It felt… purely professional.”
“In my opinion, she’s not someone who’s easily swayed by the boss’s charm.”
Livia stopped eating, fully focused now. “Is she beautiful?”
“Very pleasant to look at,” the secretary replied.
“Not the kind of stunning beauty that turns heads instantly?”
He shook his head. “Not that kind. But the more you look at her, the more attractive she becomes.”
Livia absorbed that quietly.
“So how are things between them?”
“As host and guest,” the secretary answered. “Nothing beyond that.”
When Sonny had spent more time with the Francoeur family afterward, the secretary hadn’t been present. He didn’t know how well Sonny and Winnie had actually gotten along.
From what he had seen, everything remained formal—businesslike.
Livia let out a soft “oh.”
But in her mind, she had already drawn a conclusion.
The “unwilling” woman Sonny mentioned… was most likely Winnie.
“Alright,” she said lightly. “You can get back to work. I’ll look around a bit more.”
With that, she walked off again—her curiosity satisfied.
As she strolled through the company, she casually observed its operations, taking the opportunity to understand its latest developments.
