Chapter 5505

Inside the house, the two men chatted casually while, outside, Jennifer accompanied Serenity and the others for a walk.

Jane asked Jennifer, “Titus officially took over the Labbe Group today. Did everything go smoothly?”

Jennifer nodded. “Everything went very smoothly. Ever since arriving in Havenmill, the young master has paid close attention to the Labbe Group and has become thoroughly familiar with all of its businesses. Taking over the company wasn't a problem for him at all.

“Timothy did try to make things difficult. He attempted to use one of the company's major clients to pressure the young master, but the situation was resolved almost immediately, and the client didn't dare say another word.”

Jane let out a relieved smile. “That's good. We trust him. But if he ever runs into trouble, Jennifer, you have to let us know. Sometimes Titus is too reluctant to ask us for help.”

As the oldest among the children, Titus had grown up without his biological parents or siblings, which made him fiercely independent. Aside from matters of the heart, he rarely sought help from anyone.

Jane often felt sorry for her adopted son.

Although they weren't related by blood, she had always treated Titus like her own child. She loved him just as much as Enzo and Avah and had never treated him any differently.

Yet Titus refused to depend on them.

As parents, they were proud that their children could stand on their own, but at the same time, it hurt to see them carry so much responsibility alone.

Jennifer said, “Mom Jane, if the young master can handle something himself, he won't ask anyone for help. But if there's ever something he truly can't handle, he won't hesitate to ask.”

She didn't believe Titus avoided asking his elders for help out of pride. In her eyes, he simply didn't need help because he was capable of handling everything on his own.

Lilian smiled. “Let's trust Titus. My master and I trained him ourselves. He won't disappoint us.”

As his mentor, Lilian viewed things differently from Jane.

Jane's instinct was always to protect and support her children whenever possible.

Lilian, on the other hand, believed her apprentices should be able to stand on their own without relying on their elders.

“Everyone gets tired,” she added. “But Titus is a grown man. He's tougher than most. There's no need to fuss over him.”

Jane replied, “Of course I trust him. I'm just worried he'll insist on carrying everything himself. We're still capable of helping, so naturally we want to lighten his burden.”

Serenity laughed. “We're not that old, are we? I haven't even become a grandmother yet.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

Nowadays, being in their fifties or sixties wasn't considered old, especially since they all took such good care of themselves. They looked more like they were in their early forties.

“None of us are grandparents yet,” Jane said with a grin. “I'd love to hold a grandchild someday. Jennifer, whether that happens depends on you.”

Jennifer's face immediately turned bright red.

Serenity and the others stared at her in surprise before laughing again.

It was a rare sight.

Jennifer was always calm and composed. Even if the sky were falling, she would remain unfazed. She could intimidate Titus, yet almost no one had ever seen her blush.

Smiling, Serenity said, “Jennifer's actually shy. That's something you don't see every day. There are no outsiders here. We've all been through this ourselves. Tell us what's on your mind, and we'll give you some advice.”

Jennifer lowered her head and said softly, “The young master and I...”

“Jennifer,” Serenity interrupted gently, “stop calling him 'Young Master.' Start calling him Titus. You're going to marry him. You can't keep calling your husband 'Young Master' after you're married. Get used to calling him by his name now.”

Jane nodded in agreement. “We've told her that countless times, but she just won't listen.”
