Chapter 5517
Chapter 5517
Nothing happened that night.
The next morning, by the time Baby woke up, Sonny had already prepared breakfast and finished eating. When he saw Baby coming downstairs, he said, "Baby, I've already had breakfast, and I'm about to head to the airport.
After you eat, go back to the company on your own. Your driver is coming to pick you up, right? If not, I have several cars in the garage. Take whichever one you like. The keys are hanging over there."
Sonny pointed toward the wine cabinet, where several sets of car keys hung nearby.
Baby replied, "Brother, go ahead and take care of your business. I'll manage here. My driver will come pick me up. Should I lock the door after you leave?"
"No need. The butler and the staff have already gone to work, but they'll be back later to clean the house, so just leave the front door unlocked."
His bedroom and study were already locked. Whenever Sonny wasn't home, the staff only cleaned the guest rooms. They never entered the master's private rooms or his study, which were always kept locked.
Although the butler and household staff had worked for him for years and had earned his complete trust, some precautions were simply necessary.
Those rules had been in place from the beginning and had never been broken. Everyone was used to them and never felt that Sonny distrusted them.
"Got it."
Baby asked, "Brother, do you want me to drive you to the airport?"
Sonny chuckled. "If you take me, will you still make it back in time for your meeting? This isn't my first business trip. My driver will take me.
Go eat breakfast. I saved some for you. Or take a walk outside first and eat when you get hungry."
He usually didn't have much of an appetite right after waking up. But after taking a walk around the yard or going for a morning run, resting for a while, and then eating breakfast, he always had a much better appetite.
Baby glanced at his watch and said, "No morning exercise today. We'll eat and head straight back to the company. Traffic gets terrible during rush hour."
Leaving earlier meant avoiding the worst congestion.
Once traffic came to a standstill, it didn't matter whether you were a CEO or driving a luxury car. Everyone was stuck the same way. A bad traffic jam could make anyone question their life choices.
Wiltspoon's roads were notoriously congested during rush hour, and weekends were even worse when students were out of school.
Sonny nodded. "All right. Arrange your schedule however you like. Make yourself at home. I'm leaving now so I can catch my flight."
Baby hummed in acknowledgment.
He walked Sonny out of the house and watched him get into the car before returning inside for breakfast.
About ten minutes later, Baby's driver arrived. Baby grabbed his belongings and hurried back to the company for the morning meeting, hoping traffic wouldn't be too bad.
Sonny arrived in Donimingon around noon.
The flight itself didn't take long, but getting from home to the airport, checking in, and flying over took up the entire morning.
"President Brown!"
As Sonny rolled his suitcase out of the terminal, he heard someone calling his name.
He turned toward the voice and saw Winnie, dressed in a tailored business suit, standing beside her secretary and waving at him.
Surprised, Sonny immediately walked over.
A warm smile spread across his handsome face.
"Ms. Winnie, good afternoon. Are you here to pick someone up?"
He hadn't told Winnie about this business trip in advance. Although he was in Donimingon to handle matters related to the joint project between their companies, his own company had already arranged accommodations for him.
He had planned to contact Winnie after arriving at the Francoeur Group.
So he naturally assumed she was there for someone else.
Winnie laughed. "I'm here to pick up President Brown. I knew you'd be arriving around noon today, so I came early to wait for you."
She then introduced the woman beside her.
"President Brown, this is my secretary, Clementine."
"President Brown."
