Ch. 5366: Married at First Sight Chapter 5366

Chapter 5366

Maybe it was because there were far more boys than girls in their family circle.

“As long as my parents are home on weekends and don’t have plans, my dad spends the entire time in the kitchen experimenting with new dishes,” Baby said. “My mom’s the one who truly benefits from it. The rest of us are basically just backup taste-testers.”

He added with a grin, “He’s been studying cooking and practicing for decades. At this point, it would be strange if he wasn’t amazing at it.”

Even Baby had to admit that his father’s cooking skills were exceptional.

The three of them walked into the house while chatting.

The moment Baby entered, he headed straight for the kitchen. Seeing several dishes already prepared, he casually grabbed a pair of chopsticks and started eating.

“Baby!” Serenity called out helplessly.

“You’re almost thirty and still acting like this.”

Baby responded lazily, “Mom, I’m still a few years away from thirty.”

Then he added with a smile, “Home is where I get to relax. Once I’m back here, I don’t want to carry any burdens.”

Outside the house, he had to maintain the York family’s reputation and uphold his image as the eldest son of the family.

In many ways, it felt like constantly wearing a mask.

Zachary handed his son a bowl and said, “If you’re going to eat, at least put it in a bowl properly. The soup’s ready too. Taste a little of everything now and you’ll end up full before dinner even starts.”

Then he added pointedly, “Your cousin rarely comes home. Your grandparents will also be joining us later. How can you skip dinner with everyone?”

Baby scooped himself a small bowl of soup and muttered, “Dad, are you encouraging me to eat or stopping me from eating?”

Serenity laughed. “Just drink the soup first to settle your stomach. Don’t eat anything else until dinner. If you’re really hungry, grab some snacks.”

“Mom, you know I don’t like sweets anymore.”

“You used to love them when you were little,” Serenity replied. “The older you get, the more you resemble your dad.”

She complained that her son’s habits and personality were becoming more and more like Zachary’s.

Zachary immediately said, “Of course my son takes after me.”

Serenity shot him a look. “He got my personality too. Both he and Belle resemble you more in appearance and temperament. I carried Belle for ten months and gave birth to her myself—couldn’t she at least look a little more like me?”

Zachary laughed softly. “I never said she didn’t.”

Baby finished the small bowl of soup and praised sincerely, “Mom, did you make this? It’s amazing.”

Serenity replied, “Your dad made it. After he got home, I just helped out a little. He did the actual cooking.”

Then she waved him away. “Go spend time with Livia. Your older cousin should be here by now.”

“Auntie, I’m here,” Sonny said from the kitchen doorway.

Seeing the warm atmosphere between the family of three, he had stayed quiet, unwilling to interrupt.

Outside, all three of them were powerful CEOs with enormous influence.

But at home, they were incredibly grounded.

Sonny loved the atmosphere in his aunt’s home.

It was warm, loving, and full of life.

“Are you hungry?” Serenity asked him. “Want a bowl of soup first?”

Sonny smiled politely. “No need, Auntie. I’m not hungry yet.”

Baby was different.

This was Baby’s home. The people cooking were his own parents.

Even though Sonny had lived with his aunt for years, and she and Zachary had always treated him wonderfully, he knew his place was different from Baby’s.

And there was no need to compare.

When Sonny returned to his own home, he was just as relaxed. If his parents were cooking, he’d also sneak into the kitchen to grab food and drink soup before dinner.

Maybe that was what home truly felt like.
