Ch. 4671: Married At First Sight Chapter 4671
Chapter 4671
Nine o’clock at night.
Wildridge Manor.
Serenity stepped out of the kids' room and saw her husband standing by the door, holding their daughter.
“Is she asleep?” Zachary asked softly, handing Belle over to her.
“Belle loves following you around at night.”
Usually sweet and well-behaved, Belle became impossible to calm once she started crying. At night, she clung to her mother like taffy. Not even the old lady could manage her then.
As the old lady often said, no one could comfort a child like their own mother. Though Belle spent most days at the villa being cared for by her grandmother and the elders, she was still most attached to Serenity.
Holding Belle close, Serenity gently pinched her daughter’s cheek.
“It’s already nine. Why aren’t you asleep yet? Your brother’s been out for a while.”
Zachary quietly closed the door to their son’s room.
“Baby passed out so fast,” Serenity said as they headed back to their room. She carried Belle while Zachary walked beside her. “He had a blast all day, went swimming too. He was so tired he knocked out the moment he hit the bed.”
“Mom,” Belle murmured, hugging Serenity’s neck tightly.
“What is it, sweetheart?”
Belle rested her head on her mother’s shoulder, her face full of affection.
Zachary gently touched her cheek. Serenity said, “She hasn’t seen you in so long she’s being a little standoffish. When you tried putting her to bed earlier, she pouted and looked like she was going to cry. I had to bring her to find me. Just spend a couple of days with her and she’ll come around. It’s been ten days, after all.”
Belle was only a year and a half old—still very little—and naturally clingy with her mom, especially at night.
During the day, anyone in the family could care for her, but nighttime was a different story.
Back in their room, Zachary went to prepare Belle’s formula. Serenity carried her straight to the bedroom and laid her on the bed, lying down beside her.
“Belle, time to sleep. You didn’t nap much today.”
She’d been playing with her brothers all day and barely rested, so she had to be tired by now.
Normally, Belle went to sleep by eight, but she always needed her mom by her side.
Serenity would start putting her down by 8:30 every night and only begin working after Belle had fallen asleep.
“Daddy,” Belle suddenly called out, sitting up and looking toward the door.
“Daddy’s making your milk,” Serenity explained gently.
Belle climbed into her mother’s arms, snuggling up while occasionally whispering “Mom.”
Soon, Zachary walked in with the bottle.
Belle usually drank 150 ml of formula before bed. That had been her routine ever since she was weaned.
He handed her the bottle.
“Mom, feed me,” Belle said, refusing to take the bottle herself.
Serenity cradled her with one arm and took the bottle with the other. “Not that hungry, huh? If you were starving, you would've grabbed the bottle and chugged.”
Zachary sat on the edge of the bed.
“I’d never let her go hungry.”
The nanny followed a schedule, and Belle always got her three meals on time.
Serenity usually fed her morning and night. Occasionally, if Belle woke up from her nap, she'd ask for milk again.
“Honey, go shower,” Serenity said, winking at him.
Zachary immediately understood.
She and the baby had just come back from a ten-day trip to Eaglioncile. A little time apart always rekindled a spark between them.
She had put the baby to sleep early and was now working on getting Belle to bed, so they could finally enjoy some alone time.
